DMCA / Copyright Policy

This page is maintained by The Music Standard as platform template policy. It is not a substitute for legal advice - final compliance language should be reviewed by qualified counsel before public launch.

Reporting copyright infringement

If you believe content on TMS infringes your copyright, submit a report via the copyright report form or email copyright@themusicstandard.com.

Required information

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material on TMS that is claimed to infringe, with enough detail for us to locate it.
  • Reporter contact information: name, email, optional phone, and rights-owner organization where applicable.
  • A good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by the rights owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and that the reporter is authorized to act on the rights owner's behalf.
  • A typed signature of the reporter.

Takedown process

  • Reports are triaged by TMS operators and may result in delivery suspension, takedown requests to DSPs, or removal of the content.
  • Audit logs are written for every action taken on a report.

Counter-notice (placeholder)

Users whose content has been removed may submit a counter-notice. Counter-notice handling is a placeholder until finalized with counsel; contact copyright@themusicstandard.com for now.

Repeat infringer policy

TMS will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
