Trust & Security

Your music, contracts, and
business stay yours.

The Music Standard is built to handle real artist business - masters, splits, contracts, deals, and revenue. Here is exactly how we protect what you upload, and where we are honest about what is live versus in progress.

Private file storage

All uploaded audio, video, artwork, and documents are stored in private object storage. Files are never published to a public URL by default and are scoped per-artist and per-label.

Role-based permissions

Every dashboard view and action is gated by role - artist, manager, label admin, finance, or platform admin. Roles are stored server-side, never in browser storage.

Signed URL previews

When previews are needed - audio QC, artwork checks, contract review - the platform issues short-lived signed URLs scoped to the viewer. Links expire automatically.

Audit logs

Sensitive actions across releases, agreements, splits, payouts, deal review, and admin operations are written to an append-only audit log with actor, time, and entity references.

Rights confirmation

Before delivery, artists confirm rights ownership and clearances. Rights status is reviewed by platform operators and cannot be self-overridden by artists or labels.

Contract vault security

Contracts uploaded to the vault inherit the same private storage and signed-URL rules as audio. Only the contract owner and explicitly granted reviewers can open a document.

No raw bank details stored

The platform does not store raw bank account numbers. Payout workflows are designed to hand off to vetted third-party payout providers when those integrations are connected.

Demo data is clearly marked

Until live DSP ingestion, payout, and partner integrations are connected for your account, royalty, payout, and delivery figures may be demo or placeholder data and are labeled as such in the dashboards.

Honest disclaimers

What is live, what is in progress

We would rather underpromise and ship than mislead artists about what the platform does today.

Deal review disclaimer

Deal review is a business and document review service. It is not legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Always consult a qualified attorney before signing any agreement.

DSP delivery readiness disclaimer

The Music Standard is built to support 150+ stores and prepares releases for ingestion. Live delivery to specific DSPs may require future partner or API integrations and is rolled out account-by-account.

Royalty and payout disclaimer

Royalty figures, payout balances, and analytics may be demo or placeholder data until live DSP ingestion and payout provider integrations are connected for your account.

Campaign disclaimer

Campaign execution and payment may require admin invoicing or future payment integrations depending on the service requested. Quotes and deliverables are confirmed before any campaign goes live.
