Royalty Policy
This page is maintained by The Music Standard as platform template policy. It is not a substitute for legal advice - final compliance language should be reviewed by qualified counsel before public launch.
How royalty data is displayed
The Money dashboard shows aggregate earnings, recent activity, and statement-level detail. During private beta, figures may be demo or placeholder data - they are clearly marked where present.
Real reports require DSP ingestion
Real royalty data requires partner DSP reports to be ingested and reconciled. Until ingestion is connected for a given DSP, that DSP's earnings are not authoritative.
Estimated vs final royalties
Estimates may be shown before statements are finalized. Final royalties are the values recognized in a closed statement period and may differ from estimates.
Deductions, fees and splits
- Platform fees and commissions, where applicable, are described on the Pricing page and in your active plan.
- Royalty splits are honored based on signed split sheets in your account.
- Label commission, recoupment, and advance handling are placeholders until your specific arrangement is configured.
Payouts
- Payouts require identity / tax-status verification and a connected payment provider.
- Payout thresholds and currencies will be displayed in the Money dashboard once activated.
- Bank and payment details are intended to be handled by secure third-party providers; TMS does not store raw banking data.
Statement corrections and disputes
If a statement appears incorrect, open a dispute via the Money dashboard or email finance@themusicstandard.com with the statement ID and the disputed lines. Disputes that depend on DSP corrections are subject to the DSP's processes.
